Arvind launches a new retail concept –‘The Arvind Store’ 

Opens first Exclusive Brand Outlet in Hyderabad
To open 100 stores across India over the next two years

Hyderabad|India|August'2010: Arvind Limited, the global textile conglomerate and leading apparel retailer, today launched a new Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) concept in Hyderabad . The Hyderabad outlet is the first example of this unique concept that brings together the best of custom tailoring and ready-made apparel. The Ahmedabad-based textile major plans to open 20 EBOs in Andhra Pradesh by the end of current fiscal and 100 EBOs across India in next two year.

Addressing the media after inaugurating the company’s modern and futuristic outlet, which will house all of Arvind’s products, Shri Sanjay Lalbhai, Chairman & Managing Director, Arvind Ltd. said, “The Arvind EBO is a ‘first of its kind’ retail concept which we are introducing as a part of our aggressive expansion strategy. After the first EBO in Hyderabad , we plan to increase the number of outlets in the state to 20 by the end of FY11. This is part of our strategy to increase our presence in the domestic market with 10 to 20 EBOs per state over the next couple of years. Over the next three years we hope to double our fabric retail revenues from Rs 400 crores to Rs 800 crores by end of FY 12-13. We are hopeful that the newly-launched concept stores will account for around 25% of this revenue generation”.

By blending the best of Arvind’s fabric & customized Bespoke tailoring and also readymade apparels, Arvind EBO is poised to become the ultimate men’s wear destination. The outlets are planned in a way that they not only live up to today’s retailing standards but also create a unique position in the market. The premium brands available at the outlet include Arrow , US Polo & Flying Machine.

Detailing further about the new genre, ‘state-of-the-art’ concept store, Mr. Kulin S. Lalbhai, Chief Manager, Arvind Limited, said, “This exciting new format will bring many firsts in Indian retail. Being introduced for the first time ever, perhaps in the world, is the ‘Arvind Denim lab’ – a do-it-yourself denim offering where the customer can completely personalize his denim, right from the kind of leather patches and buttons he wants to placing his initials on the pocket.

“Studio Arvind” another offering in the store will convert Arvind’s new-age innovative fabrics into shirts, trousers, suits and denims. It will combine the highest standards in tailoring with the latest in global fashion.” Mr. Kulin S. Lalbhai further informed.

To complete the set of offerings, the Arvind store will house the best brands from the house of Arvind. Arrow will offer an entire men’s lifestyle ranging from formal shirts to trousers. US Polo, one of the fastest growing brands in the casual section will offer premium, washed casual shirts. Likewise, Flying machine , India ’s leading youth-focused denim brand will be the denim offering.
