announced a cash award of Rs.25 lakhs to Ace Badminton Champion Saina
Nehwal.

Minister Dr K Rosaiah told India's No.1 and World No.3 Badminton Champion
Saina Nehwal. The Badminton Champion Saina today called on the Chief
Minister at the Camp Office along with her coach Gopichand, father and
sister. Minister for Sports, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, Principal Secretary,
Sports & Youth Affairs, A K Parida and other officials were present on the
occasion. Dr Rosaiah said he was sure that Saina will become World's No.1
Badminton Champion in the near future.
The Chief Minister who offered a bouquet and shawl to Saina described her
performance in various championships as brilliant and excellent. Dr
Rosaiah asked her to keep winning and wished her many more laurels in the
days to come. He said Saina is a role model for many upcoming young
players. He said they should imbibe her qualities and get inspiration from
Champions like Saina. Dr Rosaiah also congratulated Gopichand for grooming
Saina in an excellent manner. "You have done a great job as a coach and I
congratulate you", the CM said.
