emerges Second at AIMA-AIMS 14th National Student Management Games (NSMG)

The fourteenth National Student
Management Games (NSMG) organized by All Indian Management Association (AIMA)
at Coimbatore this year concluded with B Schools from South India ruling
the roost. However, it was ‘Master School of Management’ from Meerut that
won the top honours. Hyderabad’s Bankatlal Badruka College of Information
& Technology (BBCIT) took the second spot. Over 1100 students from 78
B-Schools & engineering colleges participated in this edition, reaching
out to more than 100,000 graduates from across the country.
At the Semi Finals on 22nd and 23 Oct, 84 future business leaders from 21
teams stormed their brains of which 9 teams made it to the finals held at
GRG School of Management Studies. While Bankatlal Badruka College of
Information & Technology, Hyderabad took the second spot, Sri Krishna
Inst. of Management, Coimbatore was ranked third in the NSMG which
concluded on Monday. The winning team will take home a cash prize of Rs
50,000/- and a trophy while the Runners up get Rs 40,000/- and the second
runner up gets Rs 30,000/-.
The learning experience extends far beyond the four walls of the
classroom. National Student Management Games provides a realistic and
enjoyable experience over a unique platform for students to experience the
thrill of managing business in competitive mode. “The philosophy of
‘learning by doing’ is translated into reality” said Dr. Jitendra Das,
Director, Fore School of Management, Delhi.
NSMG is based on Management Simulation, an exercise that enables the
participants to manage a real business in a simulated environment. This
entails that they go through the pains and gains of running a company in a
real life situation. They take strategic business decisions see the impact
through AIMA’s indigenously developed software called Chanakya. “This year
it is the south of India versus the rest of India” said Vikas Gupta,
Deputy Director, AIMA.
“The NSMG programme has gained significant strides over the years. We are
privileged to be able to host the national semi finals & the finals this
year” said Prof. Balasubramanian – Director, GRG School of Management
Studies.
The prestigious national competition began with the first leg in Kolkata
on 19th & 20th August followed by the Northern rounds in New Delhi,
Western rounds in Indore and Pune and southern rounds in Hyderabad,
Bangalore and Erode.
