Hyderabad|India|August'2009:The city of the Nizams is turning fashionable and how! Elaborate fashion couturier Archana Kochhar descended upon the city; and brought her international experience to the city with her elaborate range of cocktail sarees at the Curtain Raiser of Hyderabad Fashion Semana (The Week) held at Taj Deccan recently. The Brouchure of the Hyderabad Fashion Semana was released and the dates for the Fashion Semana announced. The Hyderabad Fashion Semana will be held from 9th - 11th September. Twenty Designers including some really big names are expected to participate in the same.

Designers Archana Kochhar and Asif Merchant from Mumbai along with six Designers from Hyderabad viz., Varsha Mahendra, Ishita Singh, Deepti Reddy, Varsha Patawari, Bhakti Reddy, Manga Reddy and Preetam & Sandeep put together a very special curtain-raiser. The event proved to be a unique learning experience for the Hyderabadi designers watching renowned designers Archana and Asif. Models Bhanu Gandham, Kripalini Singh, Apurva Vishwananthan, Tanvi Singla, Mona D Silva, Viraja Acharya, Swati Kakde from Bangalore; also Nishita Motiwala, Ankita Thite, Kehali Ghorpade from Pune showcased the works of the designers.

Says organizer Raghav of Marvel Events, “It’s a privilege for our city that eminent designer Archana Kochhar; who has done fashion weeks and several international shows has agreed to do our curtain raiser as well as our finale. Designer Asif Merchant is also a part of our show.” The names of the twenty designers who will be a part of the Fashion Week on 9th, 10th and 11th September will be announced by the 25th of August. Some really big names are expected to be there; and Raghav is currently keeping the final names under tabs.

Archana Kochhar has been showcasing her creations on Indian and International runways for the last decade. Elaborate yet understated. Flamboyant yet finessed. Traditional yet modern. Archana’s collections spell sheer uber chic couture creations crafted with perfection and precision.Her design sensibility is a perfect marriage between exquisite embroideries and nouveau texturizing techniques, all these in luscious colour palettes, making each piece “a must have season after season”.

Due to her high acclaim, Archana was invited by Galleries L’fayette Paris to present her collection with international design houses like Kenzo, Christian Lacriox, Ungaro and Nina Ricci in March 2008. Archana is one of the favorites amongst Bollywood glitterati, which includes, Katrina, Neha Dhupia, Mahima, Sameera Reddy, etc. to name few. Her recent showstoppers and muses, includes young vibrant new faces like Mandira Bedi, Geeta Basra, Minisha Lamba, former Miss Sri Lanka Jacqueline Fernandez, etc.

Designing is Archana’s domain and individualizing her forte. Her design philosophy revolves around making her client’s personality shine while she creates the complete Archana Kochhar look.
