2nd International Kuchipudi Dance Convention to be held in City
Hyderabad|India|August'2010: The historic 2nd
International Kuchipudi Dance Convention is to be held in city from
December 24th to 26th, 2010 in association with Department Of Culture,
Government of Andhra Pradesh. The theme of the convention is 'Yuvatha
Kuchipudi Bhavitha!' (Youth is the Future of Kuchipudi!).
At the Grand Finale, several thousand dancers are expected to dance for
the 'Thillana' in HindoLam composed/choreographed by the legendary 'Padma
Bhushan' Sri Vempati Chinna Satyam 'Master garu'. This would be the 'Maha
Brinda Natyam' paying rich tributes to Sri Siddhendra Yogi and thus create
a NEW world record by breaking the old record created at the Cupertino
Convention.
This International Kuchipudi Convention is planned in India to bring
together the five generations of dancers from living legends to current
students who are learning this art form to promote and further perpetuate
this centuries old dance form.
Several Kuchipudi Gurus, Young artists and students across Indian are very
excited and showed keen interest in getting involved in the event.Several
thousand dancers are expected to participate in the event.
Several national and state level organizations are evincing keen interest
to support and participate in this convention. More than 5000 Kuchipudi
dancers and delegates are expected to attend from all over India and many
countries around the world.
The focus is on inspiring the next generation youth about this centuries
old dance form. Several thousand young dancers under the age of 25 years
have shown keen interest to participate and are expected to attend the
convention.
There will be lecture demonstrations, workshops, research paper
presentations and performances. An exhibition showcasing Indian art and
Culture will also be part of convention. It is planned to bring out a
directory of 'World Kuchipudi Artists/Students' on this occasion.
Authentic delicacies from different regions of Andhra Pradesh are planned
to be part of a 20 course sumptuous 'Telugu Bhojanam' for the lunch and
dinner.
