The
third International Exhibition and Conference on Civil Aviation – India
Aviation 2012 – will be held in Hyderabad from 14th to 18th March here at
Begumpet Airport. The Aviation show is jointly organised by the Ministry
of Civil Aviation, Government of India and the Federation of Indian
Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It will be formally inaugurated
on Wednesday, 14th March 2012 at 10 AM by Honourable Minister for Civil
Aviation, Government of India Shri Ajit Singh. Chief Minister of Andhra
Pradesh Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy will be the Chief Guest. Dr Nasim Zaidi,
Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Mr. R.V. Kanoria, President, FICCI
and other dignitaries will grace the occasion.
The first three days of the five day show will be business days and the
last two days would be open for general public. All the days the show will
be open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The organizers have made elaborate arrangements. To brief the public on
arrangements and facilities at the Air Show, a joint press conference is
organised today by Mr. V. Srinivasulu, Nodal Officer, India Aviation 2012
and Executive Director, A.P Gas Infrastructure Corporation, Government of
Andhra Pradesh; Mr. I.N. Murthy, Begumpet Airport Director; Mr. Ch.
Srikanth, Deputy Commissioner of Police – North, Hyderabad Police; and Lt.
Col. Vivek Kodikal, Regional Director (Trade Fairs) – FICCI.
The show is being conducted once in two years, continuously for the 3rd
time. It is expected to provide aviation and allied industrialists to
interpret exposition of their product / services into business. The
Exhibition is also expected to demonstrate and educate the public at large
on latest aero-space technology available globally.
Spread over in more than 20,000 sq mtrs of exhibition area more than 250
exhibitors will exhibit products and services on Civil Aviation Industry.
Delegates are expected to participate from around the world. The event
also provides very good networking opportunities. 18 hospitality chalets
have been taken by various companies from India and overseas to have
meetings with their prospective customers in a typical Air Show
atmosphere. India Aviation 2012 has received a tremendous response with
participation from 18 countries. The show is expected to be visited by
more than 8,000 business visitors.
Excellent facilities of Business Centre, Lounge, Exhibitors Restaurant,
Florist Counters, Snack Counters, Drinking Water, Information Desk, Travel
& Transport Desk, Business Information Centre, etc. More than 25 Aircrafts
will be on display as part of the India Aviation 2012. This year, UK would
be the “Partner Country”, France “Focus Country” and USA the “Guest
Country”. Andhra Pradesh is the host state for India Aviation 2012,
informed Lt. Col. Vivek Kodikal, Regional Director (Trade Fairs) – FICCI.
India Aviation 2012 is supported by Air India, Pawan Hans Helicopters
Ltd., Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Business Aircraft Operators
Association. While Maharashtra is the partner state and Karnataka is the
focus state this time. Farnborough International is the overseas associate
for the show. Some of the sponsors of the show are GMR, GVK, Air India,
Jet Airways, Rolls-Royce, Flywell Power, Saab Group, etc.
Some of the highlights this year include:
Boeing 787-8 series Dreamliner will be showcased for the first time at
India Aviation 2012.
Event will also witness participation from UAC – SUKHOI and the aircraft
display of their much anticipated Sukhoi Superjet 100 Aircraft.
Embraer is all set to show their 1st ever presence in IA 2012 with their
new business jets Phenom 300 & 100. Renowned Russian Aerospace
organization IRKUT will also be participating for the first time in India
Aviation.
Leading business and commercial Aircraft manufactures viz., Airbus,
Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embrear, Gulfstream, Hawker beechcraft,
Piaggio Aero, UAC – Sukhoi, IRKUT – Beriev and others will all be a part
of IA 2012.
The event will also witness presence of major Helicopter manufacturers
like Augusta Westland, BELL – Textron group, Eurocopter – EADS, UTC
Sikorsky, etc.
Major Aircraft Engine manufacturers like GE, CFM, Safran, Pratt & Whitney,
Rolls – Royce and IAE will participate in the show.
Leading Aircraft Simulation organizations like CAE, ELITE, MPS, ALSIM,
will be displaying their products and services at the show.
The Event will have the components like Exhibition, Conference, CEO Forum,
Chalets, Static Display, Demonstration Flights and Media Conferences.
Conference on Civil Aviation sector with focus on policy issues and
business aspects will be held concurrent to the exhibition. Eminent
speakers, policy makers and experts will address the conference.
The gross area has increased from 10,000sq mts in 2008 to 12000 sqmts in
2010 to now gone up to 20,000sqmts. Even the international participation
is increasing Security being a major concern, the entire venue will be
under security cover. We have made tight security arrangements for the air
show
Hyderabad Police too are making elaborate security arrangements, informed
Mr. Ch. Srikanth, DCP North Zone. Apart from the regular police force, dog
squads and anti-sabotage squads will be on stand by at the show, he said.
Adding more on the arrangements by FICCI, Lt. Col Vivek Kodikal, Regional
Director (Trade Fairs), FICCI said the show will be formally inaugurated
on 14th March. Admission is open to business visitors for the first three
days from March 14th to 16th, 2012. Exhibitors and bonafide visitors
through registration of invited business visitors and those who buy
business visitor tickets will only be allowed first three days. The fee
for the business visitor is Rs.500/-. CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED ON
BUSINESS DAYS i.e. 14, 15 and 16th March. March 17th and 18th will be days
for general visitors. The fee for the general visitors is Rs.200/-.
There will be two sessions for general visitors on 17th & 18th March. One
from 10 AM to 1 PM and other from 2 PM to 5 PM. The visitors who buys
tickets as general visitors on 17th and 18th are allowed to go in the
specific session and allowed to spend that much time only.
The tickets will be available for sale through 22 select Axis Bank
branches in city from 10th March 2012. The detailed list of Axis Bank
branches where tickets will be put up for sale is enclosed herewith this
release. Axis Bank Branches will work from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays
and on Saturday 17th March from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Bank will not work on
the last day of the show i.e. March 18, 2012. Tickets will not be
available for sale at the venue. Only leftover if any will be available
for sale at the venue after bank hours on 17th and 18th.
Only limited number of tickets are available for general visitors. Only
5000 visitors are allowed for the session. All four sessions together on
17th and 18th only 20,000 visitors are allowed to visit the show.
Boeing 787-8 series Dreamliner which will be showcased for the first time
at India Aviation 2012 will only be available on first three days and will
not available for the last two days. Visitors only can see static flights
from 30 feet away from barricade. No visitor is allowed to board any
aircraft. The right to allow a business visitor to see the aircraft from
inside solely lies with the exhibitor. General visitors will not be
allowed to enter any planes on display.
Elaborate arrangement for Parking for Vehicles are being made for general
visitors on 17th and 18th March at Cargo Area at Airport and nearby areas,
subject to confirmation. Public are requested to make use of public
transportation to avoid traffic jams and congestions.
General visitors are requested not to carry food, water, eatables, big
hand bags, purses, any liquids, banned items etc. inside the show strictly
for security reasons. It is desirable that visitors do not carry mobile
phones as well to avoid congestion. Sufficient arrangements are made for
food and water inside the venue. Public are also informed that they will
be able to view different aircrafts from a barricaded distance . They
cannot & should not expect to enter any plane.
The primary objective of the event is Business in nature, to attract
investments in the Aerospace sectors, into the country in general, & AP in
particular. This is not a Mela.
The exhibition timings are 10 AM to 5 PM. The exhibition concludes on
Sunday, 18th March. Public are requested to cooperate with the organizers
to make the show a big success.
