After being the Chief Resident of the Worcenter City Hospital in the US ,he set up his foot in India with the aim of doing something for the Country. With 2,600 beds , Apollo is one of the Asia's largest Health care players . The Apollo group is the first to set up Hospitals outside the country and the first to attract foreign investments. With the merge and swap ratio announced between its three group companies, Indian Hospitals Corporation Limited(IHCL), Deccan Hospitals Corporation Limited(DHCL), and OmSindoori Hospitals Corporation Private Limited(OSHCL) with the parent company, the capital of the merged entity stands at Rs 37.56 crores and the turnover Rs. 288 crores. Besides the three merged companies, Apollo has the Indraprastha Hospitals in Delhi where the Delhi government has a 26 percent investment . The group has ambitious plans of expansion overseas in Srilanka , Bangladesh and Nepal as well as setting up medium size super speciality hospitals in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
