'Subject to Change' rocked
Landmark

Hyderabad|India|February'2010: Landmark in association with Exodus, gave all music buffs of
Hyderabad a reason to rejoice as they presented the scintillating
performance by the band ‘Subject to Change’. This was the first
performance from a series of high voltage music events at Landmark titled
‘Landmark Rocks’. Landmark definitely rocked as the talented acoustic band
Subject To Change beguiled audiences with a LIVE performance at Landmark, Banjara Hills on the 6th Feb ’10 at 7.00 pm.
Subject to Change are an exclusive acoustic band- essentially 70’s and
80’s junkies, rooted in rock, folk, blues and rock ‘n’ roll, with swirls
of R & B, Indie, alternative and a healthy dose of indigenous music
styles.
Benny Dayal, The latest find of Music Maestro A.R Rahman is the lead
member of the band. He has worked as a playback singer with Rahman in
several movies like Delhi 6 and Ghajini. His debut was with A R Rahman and
from then on he has gone on to wield the microphone for the likes of
Harris Jayaraj, Vidyasagar and G.V. Prakash. Most of the songs that he has
sung seem to reflect his personality to the Tee fun, confident and
passionate. The other talented members of the band are: Aakash Jacob, Toby
Joseph, Anisha Verghese, and Anjana Raghavan
The energy of this band was contagious as the audience was seen completely
enjoying and flowing with their music. It was a musical extravaganza as
the sensational band belted out a string of high voltage music that left
the audiences speechless.
It’s been over a year since the band performed at an acoustic festival in
Chennai, and the one thing that has established itself in their music, is
the “style” and spontaneity that morphs and changes all the time. This
year they have performed at acoustic festivals at Bella Ciao, the Unwind
Center, Speed (the erstwhile club) and a bunch of other places including
Kyra, in Bangalore, the Alliance Francaise and so on. They were also a
proud part of two gorgeous MJ tributes in Chennai, recently this year.
Subject to Change also has a serious addiction to medleys with songs from
MJ to the Doobie Brothers; Oasis to Tina Turner and it’s called the
“Deadly Medley”, which is a signature performance of the band. The medley
fever spawned several other concoctions; little two- song medleys, a crazy
blend of the Black Eyed Peas and A.R.Rahman, and so it goes. Subject to
Change is one of the fastest rising bands knocking the doors of stardom!
