Hyderabad: St.Francis College for Women, Begumpet, in collaboration with the College of Insurance and financial Planning, is introducing a Post Graduate Diploma Programme in insurance from May 1, 2001.

The course is being introduced in tune with the growing demand for well-trained professionals in insurance and related areas such as risk management, capital market and financial services in the backdrop of general policy of liberalization adopted by the country.

The duration of the course is nine months with 160 hours of class room teaching comprising two terms. The course is open for both boys and girls.

The number of seats in the programme is limited to 50. The first term of the course will have four papers- Introduction to Risk Management and Insurance, Principles and Practices of Life and Health insurance-I, Marketing and Service Marketing and Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning. The second term syllabus includes Principles and Practices of Life insurance-II and Principles and Practices of General Insurance and Planning for Retirement Needs, Principles of Macro Economics, Investment Analysis and management, Computers Applications in Insurance and Project work.
