Hyderabad: The profound sorrow of
Shahjahan inspired him to erect a monumental tomb
Tajmahal as token of love for his queen Mumtaz.
The great maha kavya Ramayana emerged from the
boundless grief. The wonderous deeds emanating
from sorrow are very rare. The acts of T.
Edwardraj, a city resident , who lost his only
son, Sarat Chandra Tirrey, in an accident at a
tender age of 17 has prompted him to chistle a
beautiful sculpture of his son. He carved the
sculpture even without knowing the art. A song may
not melt a stone, but, this father’s love could.
He chiselled last year a bust sized embossed
marble statue of the boy in the Christian Cemetery
at Narayanguda.
Seemingly impossible things sometimes become
possible by the impulse generated by great grief,
joy, anger and the like. The dreams of the father
Mr. T. Edwardraj, a writer to Telugu weeklies
about his precious child’s future achievements
being so abruptly nipped, Mr. Raj, now, in a bid
to assuage his pangs of grief, braced himself to
sustain the memory of his son by indulging in
writing lyrics and essays and getting them printed
in commemoration of his beloved son.
Now Mr. Raj is all set to release two books "In
Your Memories" and "That Day". Both written by Mr.
Edwardraj Tirrey in the fond memory of his son
Sarat Chandra Tirrey. Published in Telugu and
English these four books will be released by Dr.
S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, the renowned singer of
tollywood.
‘That Day’ is a tribute paid in a heartwarming
way. It’s a unique way of pouring his(Raj’s)
heart-out poetically. Some of the verses from his
That Day that are worth mentioning are: That Day -
the fact that man cannot survive/ in the shade of
‘religious insanity’ had been/ proved beyond
doubt...It was the day on which man had come to
know beyond doubt/ that religious fanatics are
the/ real creators of bloodshed. ‘In Your
Memories" is again a book of versus that talks
about Life, Shadow of Grief, Mother Teresa and
God’s Existence etc.
The release function will be graced by Sri
Kothapalli Subbarayudu, Minister for Power and
Energy, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and Mr. Gundu
Hanumantha Rao, the comedian of telugu cine
industry. The programme is jointly organized by
Andhra Pradesh Journalists Cultural Association
and Samarasya Swarakshara Jhari.
